In February 2023, we joined hands with Hong Kong Red Cross to roll out the Mobile Health Education Station which offers primary healthcare services, health advisory and education to the underprivileged in Hong Kong. Operated by the Hong Kong Red Cross, the vehicle travels to all 18 of the city’s districts offering free health check-ups to the public.

Professional medical staff from Hong Kong Red Cross, nursing students from local universities and our HSBC volunteers are also at the station offering on-the-ground consultation and health advice. More than 104,000 people are expected to benefit from this initiative in 2023.

Building Climate-Smart Community Resilience

WILLIAM CHIU, SECRETARY OF THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE, THE HONGKONG BANK FOUNDATION (THIRD FROM LEFT) AT THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE PROGRAMME.

“Building Climate-Smart Community Resilience” programme is a year-long programme that aims to raise awareness on disaster preparedness and educate the beneficiaries to prevent and reduce disaster risk. The programme enhances climate resilience for 650 households who endure poor living conditions in substandard housing in Sham Shui Po, Yau Tsim Mong and Kowloon City districts.

By offering home visits, assessments, and energy-saving appliances, our HSBC volunteers also play a part in reaching out and providing the beneficiaries with guidance to live safely while being eco-friendly.

We join hands to alleviate the needs of the community by providing timely assistance programmes.

COVID-19 Support Hotline

HONG KONG RED CROSS STAFF OFFERING PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT AND HEALTH-RELATED INFORMATION ON THE HOTLINE.

In February 2022, at the height of COVID-19 pandemic in Hong Kong, The Hongkong Bank Foundation announced a donation of HKD100 million to support COVID-19 relief and helped those most in need.

As part of the donation, the Foundation teamed up with the Hong Kong Red Cross to introduce the “Hong Kong Red Cross COVID-19 Support Hotline” offering psychological support and health-related information to those having to quarantine. The team handled over 11,400 calls and delivered care packages with healthcare items or food to over 9,500 people who were most in need.

Our collaboration with the Hong Kong Red Cross exemplifies the transformative power of partnerships in building the resilience of communities in need.
